GP Access Standards – Information for Patients
In March 2019, the Welsh Government introduced GP Access Standards to improve how patients access services in general practice across Wales.
Below is a summary of what you can expect from our practice:
- Telephone access: We use a modern phone system to help manage calls efficiently and improve your experience when contacting us.
- Bilingual service: Our telephone messages and information are available in both Welsh and English.
- Ordering prescriptions: Patients and care homes can order repeat prescriptions online.
- Online access: During opening hours, you can request a non-urgent appointment or a call-back using our online services.
- Clear information: We provide up-to-date information on our website explaining:
- how to access our services
- how to request urgent, routine, or advance appointments
- Same-day care: We offer same-day assessment where clinically necessary, including for:
- children under 16 with urgent health concerns
- patients assessed as needing urgent care
- Pre-bookable appointments: Routine appointments can be booked in advance.
- Getting the right care: Our team may direct you to the most appropriate healthcare professional or service. This could include a GP, nurse, pharmacist, or other local NHS services. This helps ensure you receive the right care as quickly as possible.
We regularly review our services to improve access and meet patient demand.
